The Imperial Command Wolf SAC (Sniper Assault Custom) is the latest of my customs. It's something I worked on for a couple of weeks on and off.
It started out life as a Hasbro Command Wolf Irvine kit and I added the CP-04. Basically I wanted to create a custom that incorporated the sniper rifle from the Irvine kit but bulk it up a bit. So, after some test fitting and trimming, I glued it to the top of the CP-04 cannons. Unpainted it looked like it was going to be too large and bulky for the CW to handle. But after I got it painted and installed it looks pretty good. I debated whether or not to use the white caps or switch them out with black ones. After putting the white ones on I decided to keep them. I think they really set off the red well and give it a clean look. The scope on the sniper cannon is off a small X-Wing model and was once part of a laser cannon. It sits a little off center, but I explain that as its adjustable to mount either to the right or left, depending on the preference of the gunner. Also, I decided to make this an Imperial Zoid so a couple of white Guylos Empire stickers were placed on the left front shoulder armor and on the back of the gunner pod.
Battle Story
During the Helic / Guylos conflict, a group of Imperial spies captured plans and a prototype of a new Helic Command Wolf - the Sniper Assault Custom. What the imperial commanders didn't know was that Helic engineers had deemed the SAC a failure and it was never to be produced. The main reason the Helic engineers scrapped the SAC was the development and success of the Konig Wolf platform. With a larger and more versatile Zoid on the drawing board, the need to upgrade the older Command Wolf line was gone.
However, that didn't stop the Empire from making the SAC a part of their arsenal. Using the stolen plans and the prototype for reference, engineers built two dozen SAC models for use by the army. These twelve units saw a lot of action in missions ranging from scout and recon to search and destroy.
But, the SAC was soon to be scrapped yet again, as the same Imperial spies that captured it, brought in yet another Republic Zoid for the Empire. That Zoid was the Liger Zero.
