NOVA SCOTIA: A grant made by King George IV on 6th November 1821 of 26760 acres of land in Nova Scotia to officers and men of a number of British regiments. A charming and informative account of life in the Scottish Highlands (Jacob MSS). SUFFOLK: A terrier and rental of the manors of Ulveston Hall and Sackvilles, in Debenham, Suffolk, dated 1594. There is a partial index at the end of the file. Many names are given, but some that crop up more than others are BOND, FRIEND, HORSEMAN, CHEKE, BLOOMFIELD and HARRISON. Date: Late 16th/early 17th centuries. The date 11 Elizabeth appears on one part of the MS and a number of texts and writing in the margins refer to evidences going back to earlier periods, as far back as Edward III.
