Musici Anonymi, a consort, is an informal mostly early music group formed in 1990; we play recorders, crumhorns and viola da gamba with light percussion and occasionally with harpsichord, keyboard or piano accompaniment. Our crumhorns, SATTB, were made for us by Stefan Beck. As a consort our number is small and variable, usually 3-6. Our goals are to have fun playing mostly early music (music written before 1750, the year of J.S. Bach’s death) and to perform publicly. As one of several early music groups in the Dayton OH area, we continue the pre-television hausmusik tradition of entertaining ourselves with weekly rehearsals and entertaining others in small indoor spaces.

Musici Anonymi, a consort made its public debut at Miami Valley Hospital in December 1990. We play at St. George's Episcopal Church, Christ Episcopal Church, Dayton, and in concert for the Warren County Music Club. We played for special liturgies with Schola Cantorum Daytoniensis at the University of Dayton for six years. A sample of other venues includes: weddings, Fal-de-Ral fundraisers for WDPR, with the Mason Chorale, at bookstores, at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Holy Angels Parish, for Renaissance Feasts, a NATO luncheon, and a variety of Christmas programs.
