Welcome to the New England Mountain Bike Patrol (Rhode Island Unit)
The Rhode Island Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Patrol (NEMBP) is a program of the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA).  The NEMBP educates mountain bikers, serves as a communications link between local land users and land managers, and offers first aid and assistance to all trail users.  It is the mission of the Patrol to inform and educate, without passing judgement or enforcing policy, to render first aid to all who need and want it, and to foster responsible trail use in the mountain biking community.

The Rhode Island Patrol Unit covers the Arcadia Management Area located in Exeter/West Greenwich, Rhode Island.  This area is approximately 15,000 acreas and contains over 50 miles of single-track trails.  It is classified as a multi-use area (hunting, fishing, horseback riding, hiking, and biking).  This area is management by the Division of Forest Environment, Department of Environment Management, State of Rhode Island.

All Patrollers must meet the following minimum requirements to be members of the Rhode Island Patrol Unit:

What Patrollers Do:

Patrollers ride in the Arcadia Management Area alone or in pairs, concentrating on those areas that may require additional attention due to overuse, trails frequented by multiple user groups, and other areas popular for other types of recreation.  Patrollers also staff NEMBA education booths at trailheads during events.

Each Patroller wears a readily recognizable red jersey with the NEMBP logo.  They greet all trail users and provide assistance if requested.  Each Patroller carries a cell phone to contact authorities if the need arises.
