The Armed Forces Service Center
Serving Those Who Serve
While traveling in the military, did you ever get stuck at an airport and end up sleeping on the baggage carousel?  Or did you miss your flight, only to be stuck waiting overnight for the next flight with only pocket change and more than just a little hungry?   Well, there's a unique facility in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport to keep these things from happening to any Active Duty military personnel.  Established in 1970 by a group of concerned citizens, the Armed Forces Service Center (formerly the Servicemen's Center) offers an attractive main lounge, modern kitchenette and bunkrooms for active duty men and women and their dependents.  And for interrupted traveler the Center is an oasis.  Staffed 24/7, 365 days a year by volunteers, the center offers complimentary food and beverages.  Plus, a color TV (w/CNN), fax machine, two computers (w/DSL), calling cards, stamps and magazines.  Also a bathroom with toiletries and, separate sleeping quarters for men and women.
