| Emma Frost is perhaps best known for her very powerful and very influential telapathic abilities. When we speak of telepathy, most think of reading the thoughts of others and projecting your thoughts into the head of another. These all apply with Emma Frost, |
| but her abilities allow for greater variety. Using her telepathy, Emma Frost can do almost anything concerning the brain. She can control rushes of pleasure or nausea, or confusion or dizziness. By searching through a |
| person's mind, she can find details and memories, and wipe them from existence. If need be, she could transfer the mind of one person to another. Continuing with the mind-control, she can project images to mask her real image by using what she calls, a "telepathic illusion". In other words, she could make you see something that isn't really there, or project someone else's image in front of hers. Basically, a person's mind, and all it's capabilities, are in Emma Frost's control. Another ability that Emma has displayed is the ability to gather the ambient psionic energy around her, and channel them into psychic bolts. The pink-ish bolts strike a person and send a psionic burst of energy through the person, usually rendering them unconscious. In a similar fashion, Emma can send "psychic bolts" to a person to temportarily knock them out or sedate them. And when she wants, she can awaken them. All this with just a single thought... |
| Recently Emma has developed a new ability as the result of a "secondary mutation". Emma had her telepathic abilities until the disaster in Genosha when the island was attacked and almost completely destroyed. She was in a building as it was destroyed by Sentinels, but she survived when her skin turned into organic diamond, allowing her to survive the collapse of the building. Though still new, Emma has definitely learned to use her diamond form effectively. As her skin is hardened, she is less vulnerable to physical and mental attacks. Enclosed in diamond, Emma cannot receive telepathic attacks, but in the same sense, she cannot deliver them or use her telepathy. But that's ok, because as a diamond, her nails turn into slicing weapons, and she is almost invincible to physical harm, not to mention she gets a real bad attitude. |
