My car is an ice blue, a pretty rare color for the MKI, although this color is very common on other toyotas of this era. There are some dings on the passenger as well as some faded areas on the room, and near the engine lid. Other than that..it's great. For lighting, i have clear corners and CATZ MSX foglights.
For aerodynamics, i have a carbon fiber splitter mounted to the stock air dam. This unit was customed using a splitter from a VW Jetta. It sticks out about 2.5", still not enough to make it stick out further than the bumper, but more than good enough to add downforce to the front nose of the car. This should help the problem the MKI has of getting floaty at high speeds.
I resorted to the splitter since there is SERIOUSLY no aftermarket for nice front bumpers or lips for this car. There is a DUTCH front bumper, very nice, but costs at least 600 shipped if not way more. Nothing in the US is good, toysport is fair, but i believe not good for the $220 cost. I feel the splitter adds good looks as well as a fair amount of function. |
