Here is My 442

Here's some pictures of my 1970 Olds 442 W-25.The car is Sherwood green(code 48) has a green interior and a green vinyl roof. It has a M-21 4-speed and 3.91:1 rear end. It has the W-27 rear end cover,p/s,p/b and FE-2 suspension. The car has very few options and is all original except for the headers, intake and ladder bars in the rear.

Here are some pictures of the engine. It is 462 cubic inches and has a compression ratio of 10.5:1.The motor was recently rebuilt and was balanced and blueprinted. The heads were bracket ported by myself using a article from Joe Mondello that showed a cut-away photo of the ports and showed where to grind to duplicate his bracket port job.The egr hump was removed, the floors and roofs were raised by .100" and the ports were widened by .100".Also the port bowls were blended and the guides were also blended as well. I also welded the exhaust divider and filled in the crossover ports. The valve springs are Crower and were set up @1.800" which gave a seat presure of 130#.I used a Fel-Pro gasket sprayed with copper gasket paint. The cam is also a Crower and specs out @297deg&.538"intake and 308deg&.533"exhaust on a 112 deg centerline. The cam was installed straight up and I used the Crane variable lifters to help my low end torque and vacuum and they really did!The intake is a Edlebrock performer which was port mached to the heads.I used a Mr Gasket intake gasket instead of the turkey tray and this has worked well also. The headers are Dynomax 1 3/4" ceramic coated and these were also port matched to the heads. The Desktop dyno program says 510 hp@5800 but I will have to take it to the track to see how accurate it is. "UPDATE!" I have recently been doing top secret testing on a open stretch of highway near me. Using my GTECH accelerometer, the first pass netted a 13.2@117MPH! The MPH is a VERY BIG number for a 4000lb car! Wheelspin was a joke so a a set of anti-hop bars from PST were in order. Since then I have posted a best of 12.5@117 and this is getting too scary for a public highway I really have to take it to a track and put 10" slicks and uncork the headers and remove the clutch fan. I feel confident that high 11's@120+MPH should be easy.Using some programs on the internet to work the HP back from MPH and weight I get somewhere in the neighborhood of 600+HP! Not bad for homebuilt. Will keep you updated on the track number if I can score a set of slicks and rims and get them under the wheelwells.

Here are some pictures for my interior. The car has a Tic-Toc Tach Factory AM/FM stereo and a 8-track tape player. Both the radio and tape deck were non-working but I have repaired them myself. The car also has remote sport mirrors a sport steering wheel and 4 speed console. The rugs are new, the seats have been recovered, and all interior painted pieces were painted the correct color codes. Also all the interior chrome has been replaced.Future plans for the interior are to get donor car and try to put as many factory options as possible in the car(a/c,p/w,p/d/l,tilt/telescopic/power seats cruise, rear defroster, ect).
