   STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

As an artist creating for public spaces, I attempt to develop for the client, that visual idiom with which to identify the project uniquely; and with community intteraction, help weave common themes into social environment.


   EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Born in Budapest and educated in California (Northrop Aero Institute, State College at Los Angeles and UCLA); he was introduced to the art of mosaic by Sisters Corita Kent and Magdalene Mary at  Immaculate Heart College, Los Angeles.He then studied with LA public artists Dr. Joseaph Young and Millard Sheets who recommended him for graduate studies at Otis Art Institute. He graduated in 1969 with a BFA/MFA in design/painting and  ceramics.  He won study/travel grants to Europe and spent three years with our World Health Organization medical team in Denmark as a photographer.  While in Europe he widely exhibited his paitning and mosaic work at regional exhibits. Upon returning he exhibited  his photographs at the White House health care exhibit. He then went to work for the UCLA media center television department for two years. After relocating to the California Central Coast he worked as a restoration artist at Hearst Castle and later at Watts Towers in Los Angeles. He currently continues production in his studio and works as a public artist  collaborating with other artists, technicians, and team  members.
