The Event

         In 1906 a massive explosion blew off the roof of the Mercantile
Building above Room 1300.Witnesses gave conflicting reports
of what they saw.Rooms 1200,1300 and 1400 were thoroughly
destroyed,and investigators found a charred Edison Dictaphone
with a recording cylinder in it,as well as various artifacts.The
local constabulary had placed the evidence in packing crates,which
have since mysteriously dissappeared.The town drunk claims to have
seen black top hatted men carrying the crates to a Holland submarine
in the harbour,but his story has been dismissed.
