This indenture made the 15th day of December 1852 by and between Polley Barnett, Harmon Barnett, David Barnett & Joshua Barnett & Franky Hays or Barnett of the one part and Thomas Sewell of the other part both of Breathitt County KY. Witnesseth that said Barnetts hath this day for and in consideration of the sum of $45.00 to them in hand paid the receipt & payment whereof is hereby acknowledged , bargained, granted, sold, and by these presents doth grant, and sell, and convey unto the said Thomas Sewell all of a certain tract or parcel or boundary of land lying in Breathitt County on the North Side of the North Fork of Ky, river about and below the mouth of the little Pan Bowl Branch containing 200 acres of land be the same more or less. Beginning at the mouth of the Little Pan Bowl Branch at D ? Bullocks line and running with his line up the panbole branch to the head to a white oak tree, thence with the main ridge and with Simon Cockrell's line crossing the Big Panbowl Branch running with his line 50 poles to a stake on the main ridge . Thence on abstract line southwardly to the river opposite Stephen Miller’s plantation to a big rock standing in the edge of the river on the said North side. Thence down the river with it’s meander to the beginning. Containing 200 acres more or less as aforesaid to have and to hold the same with all and singular its rights and privileges & appurtenances forever against all claims whatever in testimony whereof we have set our hands and seals the day and date first written:

This indenture made this 23rd day of November 1887 between the heirs of David Barnett deceased of the first part and Thomas Barnett of the second part . We the said heairs viz: William Barnett, Polley McIntosh, Armins Senters, Nancy Barnett, Martha Barnett, James Barnett, Abraham Barnett, John Barnett and Sarah Smith the parties of the first part have this day bargained sold and in these presents doth grant, bargain, and sell also convey all of our interest in the lands owned by David Barnett deceased at the time of this death to said Thomas Barnett for the cause devotion of thirty dollars each amounting in all to $270.00, $240.00 in hand said the receipt of which is hereby acknowledg the remainder $29.31 secured by vote to the following parties viz: Martha Barnett 13.68, Nancy Barnett 15.63 the said lands is bounded as follows viz beginning near the mouth of the branch on the banks of Troublesome Creek just above where Flint Davis lives on the same side of said creek at the upper end of the Old Ben Miller tract of land thence with said line Northwary to the top of the hill at Henry Combs line, thence eastward with Combs line to the main creek of Troublesome thence down the creek to near opposite Thomas Barnett present residence, thence across the creek Southward with Henry Combs line to the top of the hill to the line of John McIntosh thence with said MciNTOSH LINE Northward to the main creek near opposite where J T Davis now lives, thence up the creek as it meanders to opposite the beginning, thence across the creek to the beginning. Two hundred acres, more or less to have and to hold said tract said tract of land to Thomas Barnett from us and our heirs forever warranting and defending the same. In witness whereof we the parties of the first part have hereto set our hands and affix our seal.

Notes for ESTILL BARNETT:
Note 1: Estill Barnett was shot to death in Richmond KY. just 2 weeks after being arrested for robbery of U.S. Mail Truck near Jackson, KY. He was in Richmond for his trial when John Vermillion, Perry Co. KY deputy sheriff took Barnett for a "ride", he was found later dead on the highway eight miles from Richmond. He had been shot to death and thrown on the road.

Note 1: Sheriff A. Collier arrested brothers Marvin Hall, Ralph Hall, Floyd Hadden, Estill Barnett and Blake Centers, for the Hold Up of U.S. Mail Truck. They robbed the Hardy-Burlingham Mining Company of Coal Company Payrolls totalin about $15,000.
Blake Centers was a night policeman.
Estill Barnett was a former deputy sheriff of Perry Co. KY and had been for 10 years.
Estill Barnett, 46, was shot to death just 2 weeks after the robbery in Richmond KY by John Vermillion, Perry Co. deputy sheriff.
The other four were found quilty and given sentences fo 25 years. They were taken to Federal Prison at Atlanta.
