Welcome to the Monson Holiday Lights website. We anticipate this page being kept up to date with any news we may have. We also welcome ideas, opinions, questions or comments about anything regarding the Monson Holiday lighting along Main St in town. Thank you for visiting, and please take a look around.
This past season, the wreath on Memorial Town Hall was replaced. We also added lights to the larger trees in the front of Memorial Hall and added lights to the trees in Dave Grieve Park.
Ongoing Projects and Goals
In the past few years, we have been trying to upgrade and/or replace some of the decorations along Main St. You may have noticed new LED lights on the tree at the corner of Main St and High St. Since the tree is now quite large, this was necessary due to power contraints. The lanterns have been repainted due to fading from the sun, and the most severely broken ones should be replaced for next year's lighting. After all, some are over 25 years old! Older mechanical timers have been replaced with electronic units, so all of the lights come on at just about the same time.
How to make a donation
If you would like to make a donation directly towards the Holiday Lights, you may send a check or money order. Please make them payable to "Town of Monson - Gifts to the Town - Holiday Lights" We know its a lot to fit on the line so Town of Monson- Holiday Lights would probably work as well. They can be mailed or dropped off at the Selectmen's Office at the Town Administration Building, 110 Main St, Monson MA 01057. THANK YOU for your donations!
