The MOMS Club of Great Valley is a local chapter of the International MOMS Club (MOMS Offering Moms Support). We are a non-profit, non-denominational group that supports at home mothers (some of our members also work outside of the home).
The MOMS Club of Great Valley started in January 2002 and is expanding its membership. Our membership includes mothers of children who are in the K.D. Markley and Charlestown Elementary Great Valley School District. We meet every third Monday of the month at a local church (Always contact a board member* to confirm location and day). Meetings begin at 10:00 A.M.
You are invited to attend two regular meetings before deciding to join. Dues are $20 per year and are used exclusively for our projects and programs. We understand that being a mother "at home" often means a tight budget, so dues will be waived if requested.
Please feel welcome to come to our monthly meeting. We believe being a mother should not isolate you. Children are always welcome to our monthly meetings, and we are very excited to welcome new members!
GOALS
- Provide moral support to at-home mothers
- Provide a forum for topics of interest to women
- Give mothers a voice in the community
- Perform service projects that benefit children
PRINCIPLES
- Women must be free to choose their personal path to fulfillment.
- For women who choose it, raising children is an important and fulfilling full-time job.
- A family's decision for a mother to stay home to raise children often involves considerable financial sacrifice.
- There is no one right way to raise children. That being said, a major reason for members to come together is to seek out mothers with a common concern for raising their children in the best possible and most healthful way.
- Children are a community's greatest resource, and a community's concern for its children is marked by the quality of its schools.
