Dear AP Environmental Science (APES) Students,

School is almost out for the summer, but I am already looking forward to next year.  It looks like we are going to have a great APES class!  I’m glad to see some familiar faces on my class list, and I look forward to getting to know some new people as well.

I have a simple summer assignment for you.  Please find five news articles related to environmental science, and bring them to class with you when school starts.  For each article, also write a brief summary of the article and include some of your own thoughts and opinions  (50 points).  We will discuss these articles in class on Thurs, Aug 30^th.  Look in newpapers, magazines, and reputable internet news sites.  Some topic examples are:

** Climate change               

** Alternative energy (nuclear, wind turbines, biofuels)

** Water supply, water rights, Black Rock project

** Endangered species

** Pollution

Etc…
