Why should I spend my valuable time reading this website?
You shouldn't. That is if you are not a Baha'i in your heart. Here is
CNN or maybe you want to visit
Yahoo! Please understand that my intention is to only address Baha'is and respect those wishes by leaving if that does not include you.
But if you are a Baha'i, I would hope that you care about the Faith and everything related to it. What follows is especially relevant to Canadian Baha'is but there may be lessons in there for other countries as well. But my fellow Canadian Baha'is are really my intended audience.
So what's all this about then?
Well, this is about the manner in which the NSA of Canada has managed the financial resources of the Baha'i community of Canada as well as how they have communicated about the financial resources of the Baha'i community to the rank and file Baha'is in Canada.
So what are you trying to do here?
Simply to bring to light certain matters which should be of concern to all Baha'is (especially Canadian ones) but for reasons that I can not fathom (apathy perhaps?) have never been even considered or questioned. I am going to critique the actions of the NSA of Canada and try to get more Canadian Baha'is involved in the affairs of the community by allowing them to gain more knowledge. Since I have tried my best to only present verifiable facts you will see that you can find much of what I present for yourself.
So who are you?
I am a Baha'i who believes that there should be more transparency and full disclosure when it comes to the financial situation of the fund in Canada.
So why don't you just tell this, whatever it is, to the NSA of Canada and save us all a heap of bother?
Well, you see, I wouldn't be telling them anything they don't know. They are in full and complete knowledge of the situation. It's the Baha'i community of Canada that I'm afraid, appears to be in the dark.
So who are you really?
I would prefer to remain anonymous.
So what's with this cloak-and-dagger routine?
I don't think it is wise to reveal my identity for two main reasons. First, I do not wish for there to be even the slightest hint that this action is in any way a form of campaigning or is motivated to gain a leadership role in the Baha'i Faith. Since some people may misinterpret my actions as such, I have decided to remove this possibility.
Second, my identity is irrelevant. I would much rather focus on the facts that I bring to your attention. What I communicate can be readily verified by whosoever wishes to take the time to do so. And if what I say is true, then my identity is of no consequence. If you are still not comfortable with that, then you are under no obligation to continue.
But why are you putting this on the internet? Everyone will be able to see it!
You are right. The medium that I have chosen is egalitarian. Anyone, regardless of their location, loyalty and motive can read it. However, you are making an error if you assume that the information I will provide is not already available to whomsoever wishes to access it, easily and conveniently through similar or other means.
I chose the internet because it allows me to share this important message with the most Canadian Baha'is while using the least resources.
So what do propose we do after reading all this?
Well, if you are ready to keep an open mind, you shall find me only presenting some noteworthy facts. After you are done I strongly suggest that you individually investigate the truth and verify what I am saying. Then I would suggest that you think through what I've presented and form your own opinions. If after that you believe it is valuable, you might consider bringing this to the attention of other Canadian Baha'is.
What's with the website's name?
Sounds like someone doesn't know their history. I'll point you in the right direction. Time: 480BC Place: Thermopylae.
Can I contact you?
No. There really is no need for that.
