Welcome to Alton, MO, the hub of Oregon County. The lovely, spring fed, Eleven Point River
is one of the best canoe float streams in the Ozarks. Also the walking trail, surrounded
by wildlife, to Greer Springs, is refreshing and enjoyable. Another main attraction,
the first Saturday of October every year, is Alton's Annual Black Gold Walnut Festival
held on the Square, which is roped off for the occasion. You are welcome to come
for a day or come to stay, but come.
