Ringling Brothers Pros and Cons

A few years ago I went to see the 131st Circus in Houston, TX. This was
the first time I went to see The Ringling Brothers since I was a little kid. Now
I understand that with time the show would change, however it wasn't all for the
best. Here is a list of what I thought was good and bad about the show!
PROS
Bo and Bello A great pair!
Everything from Bo's painting to Bello's street lamp (and of course his hair!),
they were wonderful.
Live music Although it was hard to tell (the
website doesn't even mention it) but the show consisted of a wonderful live
band. The music and sound effects they did was wonderful. I don't think that
RB's give them enough credit!
The Max-Air Blizzard Battalion I haven't seen
anything like it! This is just something you have to see to believe!
Ticket prices You can't beat these! I felt I had
the best seat in the house! I was in the upper deck right in the middle of the
whole event. All for $15.00. Sit too close and you won't be able to see
everything.
The Cloud Jumpers I want to do this!! How do
they get so high?
Baby's First Circus Did you know that Ringling
Brothers will give you a free ticket when you have a child? See
here for more details.
Free Teaching Materials Did you know that
teachers, scout leaders, and other child leadership professionals can receive
free educational materials about Ringling Brothers? Click
here for more information.
Clown Alley A wonderful idea. An hour before the
show starts you have a chance to go down to the floor to see the clowns and
animals upfront! Kids can even try on clown costumes
There is too many other things to put in this list! I will update this
from time to time!
CONS
Prices
$6.00-$10.00 for cotton candy? $14.00 for a little
light ball thing you wave in the air? Come on!
No high wire
I understand that the show would have changed
drastically, however they should always have the high wire.
Cage of Death
Remember that? Motorcycles roaring at each other
at high speeds in a small round cage? Where did it go?
Update- Ringling Brothers has since brought this back!
PETA
I wish they would leave this wonderful show
alone! If you are an animal rights activist, please don't email me...despite
what people seem to think I have no control over this. If you have any questions
about the care of these animals, take
a look here.
Those were just a few of my thoughts on the show, I'm always open to
suggestions for the site. Feel free to contact
