Well, Ember finally made it to my nick of the woods again. She showed up with Lyndel and Andy (if I remember correctly) sometime last winter. I don't remember a whole lot, just that it was REALLY cold.
At that particular time, I was engaged. I told Ember and she added a special wedding message when she signed my copy of "Stiltwalking". It said, "Happy Wedding Bells!" The funny thing is that right afterwards she made a comment about how she hoped that nothing bad happened to the wedding plans.
In June of this year, a little more than a month before the wedding, I broke it off and left him, narrowly avoiding an "I Boinked the Bride" event. The reasoning behind my decision is complicated. He is a good person, but he and I didn't see eye to eye on making a relationship work. Now I am where I belong, in the loving arms of a wonderful woman. I'm not sure what possessed Ember to "jinx" my wedding, but I thank her wholeheartedly!
