Transparent Images with
Paint Shop Pro 5, 6 or 7 >>
[ I wrote this originally for PSP version 5, but the process hasn't changed much in version 6 or 7 ]
First download a trial version of Paint Shop Pro
You have an image file "image.gif".....
...and
you want the red background transparent.
1. Load it into Paint Shop Pro
2. Click on the "Dropper Icon"
3. Move dropper
cursor on "Red" background (or the colour you want made transparent), and
click with the right mouse button. This will set the Background
colour to the desired colour.
4. Click
on the Colors tab on the toolbar
This will bring up this:
5. Click on "Set transparency value to the current background color"
6. Then SAVE the image as a GIF file, and
then displays as
with the red colour gone.
7. There is no number 7
That's it!!
Note: You can use the dropper method to make any colour in an image transparent.
In this case the black colour is removed.....
. . . . . . . voila!
