Mary Lim has about 25 years' experience in teaching piano from the beginner to the diploma level and can teach in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Her students always obtain very good results in examinations and competitions. She taught at the Royal Conservatory of Music and has been an examiner for RCM Examinations since 1995.
She is a member and workshop clinician of the Ontario Registered Music
Teachers' Association.
Mary Lim graduated in music from the Chinese University in Hong Kong with
first class honours and obtained a Master's degree from the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria with distinction. She also holds a Fellow's diploma (F.T.C.L.) in piano and two Licentiate diplomas (L.T.C.L.) in harpsichord performance and piano teaching from Trinity College of
Music in England, a Licentiate diploma (L.R.A.M.) in piano teaching from the Royal Academy of Music in England,
three Licentiate diplomas (L.R.S.M.) in piano performance, piano teaching and school music from the Royal Schools of Music in the U.K., and an Advanced Certificate from the Würzburg Music College in Germany. Numerous European scholarships sponsored her to study keyboard instruments extensively in Europe. After moving to Toronto in 1991, she perfected the art of piano performing and piano teaching with world renowned masters.
At both the piano and the harpsichord, Mary Lim has performed as soloist
(in recital and with orchestra), accompanist and chamber musician in Asia,
Europe and North America, and has also been heard on broadcasting media.
