Our purpose is to promote wood carving and share knowledge in the artistic use of wood to interested persons, through meetings, shows and other opportunities and raise the stature of wood carving to a fine art in the eyes of the public and art world. Also to serve the needs of wood carvers by forming a corporation of wood carver groups, clubs or guilds, with which wood carver groups may affiliate to provide a forum to meet together for the exchange of information and knowledge, plan and organize shows, demonstrations and workshops.
To promote the art of Wood Carving to the Public, and the Art World.
Provide seminars for members.
Establish standard rules, regulations for shows.
Promote a state show for Michigan members only.
To promote membership in carving clubs throughout state.
Provide Liability Insurance for the State Club and Member Club Events.
Provide the Chatter, newsletter for the members.
Provide a membership card for members.
Adopt bylaws for a non-profit organization
Provide a list of venders and suppliers.
Provide a video tape Library. 56 films by Al Knechtel
Provide a clearing house for club news and information of Clubs nationally.
Provide calendars of show and events.
Promote Rallies for carvers, week long carving seminars.
