What turns out to be a regualar illegal operation turns out to be a monster filled mission of survival... Control Your Fear. Graphics The graphics of Fear Effect are awesome. For anime lovers, you're bound to live this perfectly crafted game. The luminating backgrounds are completely constructed of FMV sequences, giving an atmospheric presence of fear. Character models are crafted very well, with very good facial expression and realistic movement. This is a totally good visual game. Sound Eerie footsteps, ringing gunshots, and the moaning of the dead bring out the fear in you in this game. The sound effects are a delice while the soundtrack is up to par also. With scary sound affects such as wind and motors runnin combined with a mysterious soundtrack, you really get into the game very fast. Gameplay As with many other survival horror games, the control of Fear Effect is very shaky. Up is always forward, left is always left, right is always right, and down is always backwards. With this control, sometimes it is very hard to control the character on the screen at wierd camera angles. But I would say it controls a lot better than the Resident Evil Series, with less of a pivoting movement. And I guess this type of control fitted into Fear Effect was needed for the dodging and strategic fighting scenes. Though I must add the frustration some may have with the game. Many will experience that the only way beating the game is to put on cheats, since the style of the game is die, load, die, and load. Actually playing the game is quite fun and amuzing. With many differnt guns and real life AI, the game is ver pleasurable to play. Your fear really gets to you as does the actual character on screen. Up above is a fear meter of how scared your character is. Meaning when your character is full of nervousness at some bad situations, muscles tense up and death is at the end of the string with one shot. You feal what your character feals....... Lasting Apeal Even though Fear Effect spans a whopping four discs, it still is a pretty short game. Why? because of the extreme detail the game puts in every ounce of the game takes much memory. I beat the game in less than on week. I'd say it's a tad bit shorter than Metal Gear Solid. But I think most players will squeeze at list two or three times beating the game on the account that this wonderful game has three, count 'em and weep!, three brilliant endings to explore and marvel at.
