| Zoraida Fonalledas represented Puerto Rico at the Miss Universe Pageant in May of 2000. The competition was held in Cyprus. Zoraida did not place among the Top Ten. Many speculate about this, saying it was her shape, others it was her evening gown selection. That year the winner was Miss India, Lara Dutta. The First Runner-up was Miss Venezuela, Claudia Moreno and the Second Runner-up was Miss Spain, Helen Lindes. |

| Zoraida Isabel Fonalledas Ferraiouli was elected Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2000 in November 1999. The pageant was celebrated in San Juan. That year the favorite to win the pageant was local model Barbara Serrano (who later represented PR in the Miss World 2001 edition). Zoribel, as her loved ones call her, showed that night with her elegance and confident answers that she was the one to be chosen without a doubt. |
| After her partcipation in the Miss Universe Pageant Zoraida took a vacation with her family in Europe. Upon her return to Puerto Rico, she entered an advertising agency, where she worked as an Account Executive for a while. Zoraida has also recently studied performing arts in New York city. She got married to a doctor in June of 2004. |
