| In 1997, Brenda Liz Lopez was one step away from representing Puerto Rico in the Miss Universe Pageant; she finished 1st runner up to Ana Rosa Brito. In 1999, her dream came true when she entered the pageant for the second time and won the title. |

| Brenda remains in P.R.'s entertainment industry. Since 1999 she has hosted many activities on TV and outside of it. In 2000, she co-starred with actor Osvaldo Rios in the Puerto Rican version of Beauty and the Beast. In 2001 she was seen in a Sears TV campaign. She also owns her modeling acedemy. In March 2002 she appeared in a local film "Mas Alla del Limite" aired in P.R. by Telemundo. She co-hosted the Miss PR Pageant Preliminary in 2003. Brenda also opened her own boutique "BL" in October of 2003. In 2004, Brenda co-hosted the preliminary competition of the Miss PR Universe Pageant. |
| Brenda represented Puerto Rico at the Miss Universe Pageant, May 1999. The competition took place in Trinidad & Tobago. Brenda was chosen eigth runner up. That year, the first runner up was Philippines, Miriam Quimbao. The winner was Botswana's Mpule Kwelagobe. |
