| In 1997, Joyce represented Puerto Rico at the Miss Venus Swimwear International Pageant. She obtained that title for the Island. Joyce had already represented the country in the Miss World pageant 1995, in South Africa. |

| In May 1998, Joyce won the Miss Universe Puerto Rico title. She represented the island at the Miss Universe Pageant. The competition took place in Hawaii. Joyce was chosen second runner up. That year, the first runner up was Miss Venezuela, Veruska Ramirez. The winner was Miss Trinidad & Tobago, Wendy Fitzwilliam. |

| Joyce remains in the entertainment industry. She moved to Los Angeles some time ago. As for the modeling career she has appeared in many commercials and runways throughout the world. As for her acting, she made her debut in a TV mini-series called "Coralito tiene dos maridos", for channel 4 in Puerto Rico. She has also appeared in Baywatch and the movie "Dude Where's My Car?". Joyce was a judge in the National Costume Competition of the Miss Universe 2002 Pageant. In 2003 she could be seen in Coca Cola and Bacardi TV ads for hispanic markets in the US. That year Joyce also stars in the US Womens Entertainment Network TV show Diva Detectives. Her lastest film credits include 2004's, "Miss Cast Away", where she played Julie and "Latin Dragon", where she played Claudia Sanchez. |
