| Ana Rosa can be called a veteran when it comes to beauty pageants. Since the early nineties she participated in pageants like: Nuestra Belleza, Miss Puerto Rico (placing among the top delegates in both ocassions) and even represented the island in the Miss World Pageant in 1993. It was not until 1997, when she entered the Miss Universe Puerto Rico pageant, that she would finally shine as she deserved. |

| After Miss Universe Ana Rosa returned to her work at Public Relations in PR's Telephone Company. She is currently married and is the mother of a boy. |
| Ana Rosa represented Puerto Rico at the Miss Universe Pageant, May 1997. The competition took place in Miami Beach, Florida. Ana Rosa was chosen eigth runner up. That year, the first runner up was Miss Venezuela, Marena Bencomo. The winner was U.S.A.'s Brook Lee. |
