Well, finally got the new competition up. Here's the deal. The rules are slightly different than the standard rules, basically it goes like this...
The runs start at 3 points, anything faster gets more points, anything slower gets less.. well, until it reachs 1 point, like..
1st - BLAH (3 points)
2nd - BLAH2 (2 points)
3rd - BLAH3 (1 point)
if someone submitted a slower demo than BLAH3 did, it would look like this:
1st - BLAH (4 points)
2nd - BLAH2 (3 points)
3rd - BLAH3 (2 points)
4th - BLAH4 (1 point)
Basically we're using 3 points as a base to promote people to expand more and fill the tables. The iwad runs and fava runs aren't accepted for the duration of this competition.
For this competition, Movie runs are worth 10 points, and increment as such. i.e:
1st place - BLAH (20 points)
2nd place - BLAH2 (10 points)

That's fairly simple

-nomonster runs are slightly different, only one demo is going to be displayed, and that's the fastest. So it's more like Compet-N in that respect. The reason for the -nomonster runs is for route creation, so they are only worth 1 point, but will help out the other runners fill up the other catagories.

Submit demos to: mirraincoming@hotmail.com
For those unfamilar with Mirrá, read the Rules section, then this, then the actual competition page for the templates and the naming schemes.

Competition ends in about a month, all the demos from the competition get sent to Opulents sda, sorry I'm not providing links, it's 3:11am, I should have been in bed an hour ago, but I wanted to get this thing going already... I'll try to fix that up tomorrow. The link for pe4_dt2.wad is on the Competition table.

Anyway, here is the Competition table, let's have a good one, eh? :)

Hope I didn't forget anything....

I'm in the progress of adding two extra pwads to the site. But before that, I'd LOVE to see a n100s run through Fava Beans, c'mon, someone HAS to do it... right? Dang it. :P
Personal Life:
My weekend is free, and there is a bottle of whiskey in my room. The question is, how long can I resist? Maybe I should coat some bread in it, and then try and feed the seagulls, fucking seagulls......

The main update here is that movie demos are scored differently. Basically it goes up in increments of 5, rather than 1. (1st place gets 15 points, 2nd place gets 10, and 3rd place gets 5, for example. This will vary depending on number of demos for that run, check the rules page for more details). This is to promote movie runs, since they are cool, and harder to do. ... and the battle for e2m6 continues. :)

Well, Fava Beans is up, along with my 8 promised runs for each level. Which, although old and crappy, are better than nothing. But hey, look at it this way, easy to beat, right? :) The naming convention for Fava Beans demos (and a link to download it) is covered at the end of the Rules page. The form template is exactly the same, so no need to worry there. We've had quite a few demos coming in already, the biggest bulk of them coming from Xit Vono who is like, practically walking all over my demos and keeping me too occupied updating to do anything about it. hehe, yah, sure, nice excuse on my part, eh? :) Mark my words though, I will take e1m7 max back. Taking that was below the belt, I simply love that level. :) Other than that, let's see. I'd love to see a lot of new players submit some stuff. Like I've already stated, you don't have to be amazing.. or even good at all to submit. If you are even slightly interested in speed running I highly suggest that you submit some demos. We need to see more action on the tables there.
P.S. Selim, e4m5, it's on bitch. I'll beat you yet. :)

I'm going to be adding Fava Beans to the mix soon. I dunno if anybody remembers that, but it's a KICK ASS E1 replacement pwad for Ultimate Doom. I found a zip file of me doing every level of Fava Beans in UV-Speed. I figure I could put those up, they are quite old though and most doomers shouldn't have a problem defeating them. But it's just something to get the ball rolling. Well keep up the recording and the good work guys. :)
