- Recorded his 100th career midget feature victory when he won the midget portion of the pretigious Budweiser International Classic at Oswego Speedway, New York over the Labor Day Weekend.
- 1998
- Posted his 99th career midget feature win in a NAMARS event on May 9th at the Shadybowl Speedway in DeGraff Ohio. He was the first driver chosen by "The Steering Committee", a group of eastern short-track fans who want to see a short-track driver from their area of the country to compete in the IRL.

- Won the Vendetti Memorial Midget Race at Seekonk Speedway.

- Earned his 6th ARDC Midget Championship. Won seven ARDC CARQUEST Midget events. Had two NEMA wins.

Nick Fornoro Jr. has driven all sorts of race cars in his career. He has driven in ARS (Indy Lights), USAC Silver Buller Cars, ARCA Stock Cars, Sprint Cars, NASCAR Modifieds, TQ Midgets and Midget Cars. His winning percentage is hard to beat. He has raced at more than 130 different tracks in 26 different states and providences.
Many different team owners have expressed an interest in fielding a car for him in the IRL, this includes some former Indy 500 winning teams. Alot of his family, friends and race fans would like nothing better than to see him achieve his life long goal and get the chance to compete in the
Indy 500.
