developed a scenario that we would like you to respond to.

Scenario:
A year ago, a company began creating landing pages for their 300+ page site,
much of which is product information that is database driven using a content
management system.
The landing pages were to improve organic search results, as well as support
PPC campaigns.
Now, the client is doing PPC campaigns for 3500 key phrases on Google. They
want to improve their results for 100 key phrases, what they need to do to
their site and campaigns to be more effective in organic results, and they
want to know if they are spending their money wisely. You are now their
guide through the online marketing world.
1. What would your recommended approach be?
As the search engine optimization world knows, search engines can not index
dynamic data base driven content. I would show the client this fact from
several sources. The client’s decision to try a PPC campaign is proof that
the above is true.
2. What data would you want to collect from the client?
The sites referral logs, the 3500 key phrases on Google, and the 100 key
phrases they want to improve upon.
3. What tools would you use for this project?
My pro pirate tary “Bulker” software to generate static landing pages one
for each product line with the current keyword density objective. Using
other tricks of the trade the user would not see (and search engines will
index), the interspersed random though targeted keywords to include those
from previous visitors via data mining the referral log. Also, some of the
competition’s keywords, aka: tag along. Some alternative choice keywords,
for example: a sailboat does not just offer sunsets sails. It offers a
corporate retreat, a wedding location, a bed and breakfast (B&B), beach and
snorkeling tour (excursions), a live aboard dive vacation (holiday).
4. What expectations would you lay out for the client?
A PPC campaign is good for a seasonal product or service. Also, as a traffic
builder for a new site until the search engines have the site listed. Search
engine optimization requires patience like any investment. In contrast, a
PPC budget is like going to the casino, you may get the excitement of the
traffic to the site, but it may not payoff by converting to a sale.
5. What requirements of you would exist throughout the project?
Keeping the client informed of my activity, progress with search engines,
and visitor’s navigation of the site. Keeping the site fresh so the search
engines will keep the site high in the search results. And other reasonable
duties as assigned.
