Monthly Playing Meetings and Workshops
Our regular meetings are held the 3rd Saturday of the month, September 
through May, 1:30 to 3:30 PM, at the Friends Meeting House, 1185 Sunset Drive 
(SW 72nd Street) across the street from Sunset Elementary  School (for directions, see 
below). Bring your favorite music to play from.
  
Summer meetings are held the 3rd Saturday of the month, June, July, and August, 10am-2pm, 
at members' homes.

Several full-day workshops with conductors are generally held during the year. Conductors
include our music director Valerie Horst from New York, and Pat Petersen from North Carolina. 
Martha Bixler from New York will conduct the December 2008 session.

Memorial service 

A memorial service was held for former member Agneta Heldt, with recorder music as requested by her family.
Saturday May 31st 1008.

Directions to the Friends Meeting House

The Friends Meeting House is located at 1185 Sunset Drive (SW 72nd Street).

If you are coming by car, take South Dixie Highway (U.S. 1), turn south on Red Road (SW 57th Avenue), turn east (left) on Sunset Drive (SW 72nd Street). The Meeting House is on the northeast corner at the second traffic light. The cross street is Trionfo or 52nd Avenue. The meeting house is across the street from Sunset Elementary School.

If you are using public transportation, take Metrorail to the South Miami Station which is just north of Sunset Drive. The Route 37 Metro Bus leaves the South Miami station and travels east on Sunset Drive (after a short trip through South Miami). It is about a 7 minute bus ride to the door. It is about 1 km (0.6 miles). If you choose to walk east on Sunset, cross U.S. 1 at the intersection just south of the Metrorail station.
