Master Gardeners of Ottawa-Carleton
Master Gardeners of Ottawa-Carleton is a  group within the non-profit volunteer organization of  Master Gardeners of Ontario Inc (MGOI) . There are  38 Master Gardener groups  across the province of Ontario in 11 geographical  zones. The Ottawa-Carleton  group belongs to Zone 8 with three other groups, Lanark, United Counties and Renfrew.
The Master Gardener program, conducted throughout the United States and Canada, is a two-part educational effort, in which avid gardeners are provided many hours of intense home horticulture training, and in return they "pay back"  through volunteerism. Master Gardeners assist with garden lectures, exhibits, demonstrations, school and community gardening, phone diagnostic service, research, and many other projects.

This two-way self-improvement and community service program has benefited many thousands of gardeners throughout Canada and the United States.
