We have imported American Rat Terriers specifically to hunt and kill rats in grain storage areas, stables and other places where the use of poisons would be inadvisable. Due to fire hazards, rats can only be hunted with bait, traps or dogs in these areas, and experience has shown us that dogs do the best job. Rats are becoming resistant to many poisons, and as a rule they are too smart for traps.  Rat Terriers and a trained handler, however, are smarter than rats.</div> <bR> <bR> <div> We breed our dogs for their hunting abilities as well as for the loving personality that the Rat Terrier is known for. Sometimes we have dogs that find they are not so happy in the pack situation and we sell them as family pets. Although they are usually older, at eight to ten months, than most puppies, we find that they adapt well to a family.</div> </td> </tr></table></body>
