As the weather grows dryer and colder the troops of the Burmese military regime are able to penetrate the jungle along the border more easily. This year their offensive has begun early. They burn villages and abduct civilians to be used as porters and mine sweepers. They rape, wound and kill innocent villagers.

Recently we have had a vivid reminder of the hell that ethnic Karen people across the border face everyday as 800 displaced people from the village of Tii-wa-doe have gathered at the border very close to our town. Click here to find out more

Despite the very real power and presence of evil, God is just as real and His love and kindness will, we believe, prevail. God continues to amaze us as He moves and works amongst us all here in Sangklaburi and the rest of the Presbytery.
