MENDING NETS
Presenting the need of Biblical Literacy
"To the Law and to the testimony!  If they do not speak according to this word  it is because they have no light in them."     Isaiah 8:20, NKJV
In his book, "What Shall This Man Do?" Watchman Nee deals with three Apostles, using them as examples of the three types of ministries, which parallel their vocation.  Peter, the fisherman, shows evangelism.  Paul, the tent-maker, shows discipleship.  John was mending nets when he was called, and his ministry reflected that.
I believe that there is a need for repairs in the nets of Christianity, and the means of repair is a return to the Bible as our source of authority.  To rely on scientific theory, psychology, conservative (or liberal) politics, or tradition is not sufficient.  The Scriptures alone are to be the foundation for our Christian lives.
Allow me to tell you a little about myself. My name is Jeff Reynolds, and I live in Indianapolis, with my wife Becky.  Becky and I have been married since July 23, 1983; no kids.
I am an ordained minister, but am not currently pastoring a church.  I consider myself to be Fundamentalist (non-KJV only), and non-denomiational, though not anti-denominational.  I am a graduate of Southwestern College in Phoenix, Arizona, with a B.S. in Church Ministries, Pastoral Track.  I am also a songwriter and a member of Toastmasters International
When was I saved?  While I spent most of my life believing I was a Christian, I believe I was born again on Nov. 3, 1979.  I was at a 2nd Chapter Of Acts concert, and Buck Herring (group's producer, husband of Annie Herring) said a Christian was someone who was surrendered to Christ.  The Holy Spirit convicted me, and I received Jesus Christ that night.  The following evening I was baptized, not to save me but in an act of obedience to Christ.
Let me tell you a little about Becky, as well.  She has received a fellowship from World Journalism Institure, and is a writer and an assistant chaplain at a local hospital.  Both of us have been trained to lead Bible studies through Precept Ministries.
Other things about me:  Favorite books of the Bible--Nehemiah, Galatians, and Hebrews.  Favorite Hymn--"I Am Resolved".  Favorite Christian influences:  Dave Hunt and John MacArthur.  I also like horseradish, chicken, and mint (though not all combined together), and both Becky and I love animals both wild and mild (i.e. tame) and going to zoos.

THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS YOU HAVE EVER BEEN ASKED:
1) Are you 100% sure that if you died tonight you would go straight to heaven?
2) Are you trusting
solely in God's finished work on the cross, as opposed to your best efforts or your church?
If the answer to either question is "No", PLEASE E-MAIL ME! I would be glad to show you from the Bible how you can change these answers to yes.

ONE OF JEFF'S HEARTBEATS!!!
I LOVE Christian music!  I was saved at a 2nd Chapter of Acts concert, and have a concern for music to meet its potential for ministry.  I would love to see more Christian music used for teaching and exhortation, as it says in Colossians 3:16.  Another concern is to see pastors encourage Christian songwriters to use that talent, both inside and outside the local church.
As a result of this, I am asking for prayer.  I am in the process of working on a book on this subject.  Thanks.
Below are links to musicians I would like to encourage you to check out.  These are from all parts of the country (some are national groups/artists).  So feel free, PLEASE, to check them out.
