Country roads... take me home to the place I belong..
Memories of my school days come flooding back
This is the road where we played 'Throw Ball' with home-made balls rolled from coconut leaves.
And this is where I learnt cycling.....many a time I got back home with large patches of skin missing from my knees...

This tiny lake is known as 'Palakattu Chira' and at the far end the 'Rock Mountain' known as 'Mallu Pottan Paara' (Deaf Rock)
Paddy Field cum Football Ground
During summer vacations the harvested fields turned into our football ground.....an unofficial ground for an unofficial team....
We played soccer with 'Kettu Panthu' (balls made out of dried banana leaves and hay).......... I lost the stump of my right toe while kicking the ball.... unfortunately it went through a thorn from the famous 'Communist Plant' scattered around the soccer field......... Still remember my mother's often repeated words 'Son, dont go and play on that ground with bare feet...' ....and see what I got for disobeying her......this resulted in me being grounded for the rest of the two month long vacation - no more soccer for me....
