Sim Abandonware and then some...

Hi, and welcome to my abandonware site. What is abandonware you ask? It's software that is now old and is no longer sold in stores, so it's okay to put up for download. This site has both mac and pc abandonware, as well as links to other abandonware and misc. websites. The games have a download link, a brief description, and a review. Enjoy! My e-mail is markjenkins666@hotmail.com. If you find any good games (especially Sim games) that I don't have, please notify me. I'm still trying to find Sim Isle, Sim Safari, and Streets of Sim City for all platforms. Also, don't hesitate to e-mail me if something's not working for you. Thanks!

Site News:

07/01/02 - I can no longer get SimIsle sorry! Click on the top link for more Sim Games. Also the Macintosh Garden is back up! Its mac.the-underdogs.org! Have fun!

02/18/02 - I may be able to put up both the PC and mac versions of SimIsle, but I'll need to find out if people would make use of them or not. So if you want Sim Isle for download, please e-mail me and tell me! Thanks!

02/04/02 - Just got back from skiing over the weekend. It was so fun to get away for a while! But anyways, I put some links up on the bottom of the page that have a few Sim Games as well as other good oldies.

01/23/02 - Over the last few weeks, I have done tons of repairs to the site, mainly uploading all the Windows Sim Games to my account, as opposed to linking to another site, which is now shut down. It took a very long time, but now everything is back to normal!

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE BEFORE DOWNLOADING!

Also, I have recieved several e-mails saying that my site has to be shut down temporarily because it's getting to much "data usage", meaning that too many people are coming to my site and downloading games at one time. So, to control data transfer, they have to shut down the site for a few minutes until the hour is up, and then its available again. It's kinda weird, but if the site doesn't work sometimes, or a download doesn't work, its most likely due to the amount of data transfer. So, be patient, and if the site doesn't work, it should in a few minutes. Thanks :)

I NOW HAVE ALL THE GAMES WORKING, AND IF THEY AREN'T, PLEASE TELL ME. THANKS FOR BEING PATIENT! AS YOU KNOW, I'M ALWYAS LOOKING FOR MORE SIM GAMES, SO IF YOU KNOW OF A GOOD SOURCE FOR SOME, PLEASE LET ME KNOW, AS MY COLLECTION WILL GROW BIGGER AND BIGGER! MWA HA HA HA HA! (ahem) sorry... :)

 PC/Windows

 Macintosh
Sim Farm - a simulation of a farm. You grow crops to make money to build new crops and so on. Grow strawberries, always get a lot of money from them. There is also a town that progresses as you're farm does, as does your house or "homestead" as they call it. You can also fly a crop duster, which I fly around for fun, but I can't figure out how to land it. This game is quite fun, especially if you like to pretend you're a racist Civil War cotton plantation farmer. Uh, he heh, uh... sorry.  Sim Farm - see PC/Windows
Sim Life - a simulation of life. You make a world, populate it with either real animals, or biological atrocities you make up, and watch it thrive. I don't see the actual goal of this game, so naturally, I don't play it. It is fun though, and you might as well download it because of it's size.  Sim Life - See PC/Windows column
Sim Ant - READ THE COLUMN TO THE LEFT FOR DOWNLOADING INSTRUCTIONS! the life of an ant. You can select a full game, where you play a black ant colony fighting a red ant colony for control of the yard. You have to dig a nest, collect food for the colony, and fight off red ants, spiders, and ant lions. An extremely fun game which I recommend you download.  Sim Ant - When you download SimAnt for PC/Windows, do NOT press the install button, just extract the files into a desired folder, and then run the simant.exe to play the game.
Sim Tower - a simulation of building, and managing your very own tower. You can build offices, hotel rooms, condos and more. It's a very good game, but I do imagine it would get boring after a while. But you should still download it because it's small.  Sim Tower - see PC/Windows
Sim City - a city simulator where you build and manage your own city. Although dated, it is a great game. The DOS version doesn't work on very many new computers so thankfully, someone ported it to Windows 95. You should download it because it's an excellent game.

Sim City - see PC/Windows

NOTE: Sim City didn't work on my computer because it doesn't go down to 16 colours. So it may not work on your computer, unless it's older.

SimCity 2000

NEWS: Ziosoft has ported SimCity 2000 to those Pocket PC things that look like Palm-Pilots (like the Cassiopeia) so you can play it when your on the go! It's very fun, just like the original. My friend brought it to school, and we were playing it in Biology!

Sim City 2000 - one of the greatest games of all time, and is still extremely fun after more than 5 years. A truly great game. Quite easy to master too. It's in 3D and there are terrain-editing features. An amazing game and probably Maxis' best and most successful game.
Not Available Yet. Can be found on many sites. Doom II - one of the best shoot-em-ups to ever come to the mac. A great game, and a timeless classic. If you crave carnage and killing, than Doom II is for you.
Not Available Yet. Can be found on many sites. Lemmings, Oh No More Lemmings, Holiday Lemmings - a game where you command around little lemmings that you have to move from one place to another with a small amount of casualties. Its a very fun game that requires a bit of intelligence, something I trust mac users have. He he he...
Sim Earth - a game where you control the wildlife on earth. Much like Sim Life, except definitely not as good. The graphics are "questionable", and the goal of the game is more nonexistent than that of Sim Life's. Not a very fun game, but still download it to try it out, because it's a very small game.  SimEarth - Just got a copy from my friend!
Sim Health - a simulation of the U.S. helathcare system when you're the head of it. Hard to play if you don't know jack about the American healthcare system (why should I know, I am Canadian eh? Noo doot aboot it! Stick to universal healthcare, not!). Still, it seems like it'd be fun for some to play, specifically people who enjoy U.S. politics. A fun and challenging game, which you should download. I heard from someone that it was made to see if anyone could develop a health care system that works perfectly. I guess they couldn't, hehehe. I don't think this game was even made for mac. If you do find a copy, please let me know!
Sim Copter - a simulation of the deed-doing helicopter pilot. The graphics are in 3D and are quite bad. But the concept of the game is fun. The only problem I had was with the amount of time you spend waiting for something for you to do. You do all sorts of things for rescue drowning people to break up traffic jams. A fun game, that should be downloaded. It's big, 6 mb about.  Not available yet, If you find a copy, let me know!

Abandonware Links:

CDos.org - a very good abandonware site with tons of old games, including a few Sim Ones! Go to it, it's good!

Sim Abandonware - the site I got all my PC Sim games from just before it was shut down. This is a link to the shut down site, which links to his new site, Darkfish Abandonware.

Macintosh Garden - a very well done site where I got almost all my Mac Games. Very well done, I suggest you go to it if you own a Macintosh.
