ver seas from coast to coast,
to find a place I love the most,
  where the fields are green,
to see you once again, my love

So I say a little prayer, I hope
my dreams will take me there
  where the skies are blue
to see you once again my love.

I was fascinated by the lyrics of the song titled "My Love" sang by the group, Westlife. It seems to me that the lyricist is describing Marinduque.

Yes, missioners came from coast to coast and across the magnificent and mighty Niagara Falls to perform a weeklong mission in Marinduque - "The Mission of Love".

The missioners landed at Kawit Port in Boac and was welcomed by the MI President, Macrine Katague on Saturday, February 7, 2004.

The Marinduque International, Inc. has been doing this charity work since 1997. It is the organization's pet project that members find worthwhile to do since healthcare program in Marindque, or in the Philippines, for that matter does not exist and the cost of medical consultation and medicines are high,  the unemployed and underprivileged families suffers the most, especially the kids.
Congratulations to the MI Chapters, namely: MACA, MACUSA, MANC, MASC, MESA, MCSC and MABC that mostly provided funds for the three medical missions to Marinduque. Without them, this endeavor would not be possible. Steve Sosa, the outgoing president, did a wonderful job putting this project together since he took office in 2001.
Mrs. Macrine Jambalos-Katague, the incoming president, also helped coordinate the mission with the governor, the town mayors and Public Health officials of the province. Details of the whole preparation are describe in her report.

Congratulations to the missioners who volunteered their time and money for the medical mission. The organization's dedicated officers and members and experienced medical professionals certainly proved they are the champions we've always thought them to be, thank you all.

Thanks to Gov. Carmencita O. Reyes who welcomed our project with full support and encouragement. The "WoW Marinduque" presentations were exceptionally entertaining and brilliant.

Our heartfelt thanks to Gasan Mayor Vicky Lao-Lim, Buenavista Mayor Ling Pe and to the Medical and Dental professionals practicing in Marinduque who really gave their best to enable their foreign counterpart better serve our kababayans who needed them.

Kudos to the Boac Women's Club,

the Club Marinduqueno, Inc.and the MarinduCare Foundation fpr their very successful projects in Marinduque. Thanks to the ESTI Computer School and its students who expertly documented the mission's medical schedules. Many thanks to the local hosts of the lunches and dinners, who fed the missioners with great food, and provided laughter and entertainment that wiped away the long days of exhaustion.

The behind-the-scene support of many friends and relatives are never over-looked. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. You made the missioners' job easier through making the work of healing more manageable.

To the patients - we appreciated your patience, waiting for long hours to consult with the doctors and nurses. It shows how much the mission is very important to you, as seen in the multi-tudes of people in line. We only hope that through the mission we made a difference and catered to your medical needs.

In our own little way, at least we can say that our organization is not a social group but a real charity organization. We always met our goals because we are united and have that common feeling of giving back to our birthplace. Our friends who sympathize with us in our cause deserve our heartfelt gratitude for what they have done for Marinduque.

MABUHAY!!!
