| Headphoneboy is George Dalphin, sometimes. The rest of the time, he floats back into the aether where he feeds on the collective-unconscious like a zeitgeist vampire. With three full-length self-produced albums and no representation of any kind, Headphoneboy is a musical ronin. He is masterless and powerful; his wanderlust is ever-replenishing; every soul he meets on his journey is forever changed and saved. The three albums Headphoneboy has produced can be seen as a trilogy of metamorphosis. With The Great Masturbator he cast away the world as his master, in two discs with thirty-one songs. The eleven songs of Soon Ripe, Soon Rotten, Gone Now, But Not Forgotten were finished a mere two months after GM. The album found Headphoneboy realizing his power and uniqueness, and mourning the loss of innocence as he came to peace with the path that was ahead of him. The Minotaur slain, Headphoneboy presently sails back to the world with the black sails that are the album The Red Tincture, and the king has taken his own life in grief Headphoneboy is now ready to begin his story. On the right, you can listen to two songs from The Red Tincture. |
