About my book
So..., my first ever book has been available in stores for sometime now. It's not just a compilation of the articles I wrote in this website. It's much more than that and it has a fundamental explanation on issues regarding the BIOS security aspect and analysis. It's about 500 pages long. I regard it more like a "log-book" about the work that I've done through the last couple of years in BIOS subject.

BIOS Disassembly Ninjutsu Uncovered
It takes quite a lot of effort to finish this book due to the excessive amount of material I wrote in it. Nonetheless, this is just the starting point. I plan to update the book some time in the future. The TIANO Core/UEFI has been gaining momentum recently and also the advances in LinuxBIOS are not minor either. These advances should take the BIOS technology one step above the ladder.

- New article, Pinczakko's Guide to Self-patching Expansion ROM Source Code added. This article explains how to make an assembly source code for an ISA expansion ROM in Fasm that patch itself into a valid ISA expansion ROM. The method explained in this article is easily adapted to PCI expansion ROM as well. You won't regret to know this trick (-_^).
- Pinczakko's Guide to Award BIOS Patching article added. This article explains how to patch Award BIOS by using only three tools, i.e. modbin, hexeditor and disassembler.
- The Award BIOS code injection article has a new critical update. The update is very important to read as it address a quite serious bug in the previous version. This is an indepth explanation around the code injection issue in Award System BIOS a.k.a original.tmp. Comes with an example.
- I've updated the Pinczakko's Guide to Award BIOS reverse engineering article again. Added new section explaining BIOS code for microcode update mechanism. Minor corrections were carried out in the "decompression routines for extendd BIOS components". This article has been mirrored by anomalous-security.org here
- The Pinczakko's Guide to Award BIOS reverse engineering article has been translated to Russian by my friends at rom.by. Thumbs up and good-work guys. Its accessible at RUKOVODSTVO Pinczakko K ISSLEDOVANIYU PRINTSIPOV RABOTI Award BIOS. Note that this is still the very early version and still a lot things need to be fixed. But if you do have a poor English and understand Russian very well, then perhaps it'll help a lot (^__^).
- Low Cost Embedded x86 Teaching Tool article added. This article is basically an indepth tutorial on how to build PCI expansion ROM. Comes with a working example.
- The Award BIOS File Structure article have been updated. A technically more detail explanation on this subject can be found in the new Pinczakko's Guide to Award BIOS Reverse Engineering article.
- The Preliminary Bios Modification Guide article ported to HTML. It's previously in plain text only.
- The Building a Kernel in an Expansion ROM of a PCI Add-On Card article ported to HTML. It's previously in plain text only.
It's been quasi-equilibrium for a while. But, I'm working on some new stuff and updates in the coming months. I hope it'll be here soon enough guys (^_^).
