| The blank starts as a 2"x2"x2". The circles represent 1/4" (or smaller) holes drilled through the blank. The majority of the cutting is done with a band saw. Some die grinder and air sander work is done to give final shape and round off ALL of the edges. |

| Here is a pretty good picture of the working die. The bottom (half in the picture) actually makes the face of the leaf. See the rounded edges and the bump will form the vein of the leaf. |

| The stem is made by simply forging the end of the leaf into a tubular shape. |

| Forge down or band saw a long taper on the end of the leaf and give it a gentle swaying motion. |
