Doggie Diets (Recipe)

Sun, 6 Dec 1998 15:42:44 EST - from Liz,UK

<<Sounds good to me. Is it edible by humans? Ah, who cares, Vince will think it is just another one of my "mistakes". Only kidding. I wouldn't mind having that recipe.>>

For those of you that wanted the recipe, Yes it is edible by humans. here goes.
Ingredtients are all natural and can be adjusted to suit individual tastes.
This amount makes about 9 doggie dinners.

1/2 pound minced beef ( or vegetarian equivilent)
2 - 3 tablespoons olive oil or sunflower oil, vegetable oil, whatever you have in the kitchen.
Pinch salt (optional) or garlic salt
2 - 3 mugs (large cups) porridge oats (eg Quaker) you can also use bran, wholemeal flour, weetabix or brown breadcrumbs.
Stock cube or marmite.
1 egg mixed with milk or water.

Lightly brown the minced beef in oil, add oats and stock cube, stir, mix inegg mixture to a firm consistancy ( you might have to add more liquid). Tip mixture into an oven proof dish and bake in a moderate oven for about 30 mins. Allow to cool before serving as the oats really hold the heat. For variety you can add grated cheese, any cooked veg, rice or pasta.

Happy cooking, if I can make it anyone can & no one's been poisoned yet!!

Liz. UK
