Resume:
I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 1997 in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Art (to keep me sane!), and I also have a 2-year degree in Physics. After college, I spent 6 years working for Boeing - Space & Communications in Canoga Park, CA as a Design Engineer. I worked for 4 years in space structures on the International Space Station program, and 2 years on the RS-68 (Delta IV) Rocket Engine Systems Design team, finishing with 6 months on the Advanced Tactical Laser program. I am currently on a break from Aerospace to raise my wonderful twin boys.
I was introduced to street painting at the Santa Barbara I Madonnari festival in 1988 when I was 13. Over the last 20 years I have participated in many other festivals around the state, and out of state, and have won a handful of awards. A full list of festival participation is below.
I primarily choose my subjects from the Italian Renaissance, to keep with the fundamental spirit of the art of streetpainting and to honor my Italian ancestry (my mother is a native of Rome, Italy). Lately I have also taken from the masters of the Neoclassical period, for their beautiful portrayal of women.
