See www.arlingtondogs.org for the latest information about the possible dog poisonings at Towers Park.

See Old Glebe's latest
proposed Civic Federation resolution.  Contact your Civic Organization and request their assistance in opposing this attempt to close the park.  The resolution will be voted on at the Tuesday, February 1, 2005 Civic Federation Meeting.  Despite the outcome of the vote, we are certain that the County will not close the park, but we cannot let a vocal minority continue to malign the dog park or the County.

The revised final design plan for the new park was approved on December 11th by the County Board. The revised plan eliminated the NW gate from the design.  Please thank the County Board for their support and vote on the design.

General Notes:

~ Be a good Madison neighbor -- adopt the street, sidewalks, and the remainder of the park -- and pick up trash anywhere you see it.  Be considerate of neighbors and follow good habits and rules for driving, parking, and dogs' barking.  No parking within 15 feet of the fire hydrant.

~ As always, please follow the park rules and remember to "leave no trace" by picking up after yourselves and the dogs.  Please bring some extra plastic bags to share with others!  If your dog wanders into a corner of the park, assume the dog made a deposit and find something to pick up.  Please try to make an extra loop around the park as you leave and encourage others to do the same.

~ In the event of an animal bite incident, please contact Animal Control at 703-931-9241 to report the incident.  Additionally, please help the sponsoring group stay informed by filling us in on such incidents.  Send information to
madisondogs@yahoo.com.  Visit the Animal Welfare League of Arlington for more details.
