Hilda Layug, sister of MS83 Anna Layug passed away last July 1, 2008 after a horrific car accident. Below are the expressions of condolences from the Class as sent to the MS83 yahoogroups.
Anna, I am very sorry to hear about Hilda. I can understand that all of you must be shocked after this. I will pray for Hilda and for you, Ophie, Tita and Tito. I know how difficult these times are for you but always remember to pray and be strong. God bless and stay safe! |
Anna.. I want to express my heartfelt sympathy to you and your family in this time of grief. I pray for your comfort and strength on the sudden loss of your sister, Hilda. |
|
We have heard of the saying "Life on earth begins at 40" but for Hilda's case, her eternal life in Heaven has certainly begun. Eternal repose grant unto her and may perpetual light shine upon her. I will be praying for you and your family. |
|
It is so hard to prepare oneself in death of a love one. More so if it is sudden and unexpected. Karen (Hilda's classmate), Norman and I would like to express our shock to hear the tragic news about Ana's sister. More so Hilda belongs to our generation. Our prayers goes to Ofie, Anna and the whole Layug family. May they find comfort to know Hilda is with our Lord in Heaven now. |
|
I am so sorry to hear the news about Hilda. My heart goes out to you and we will keep you in our prayers. May God give you strength always. |

HILDA P. LAYUG: 1968-2008
by Roberto Gomez II
Some sad news. Hilda Layug, younger sister of Anna, met an accident last Saturday.
You might have read about Hilda's accident from various forwarded emails. She was with her parents when it happened. Along the main road in Tagaytay, they pulled over to buy some fruits. The mom alighted to get the fruits. Hilda went to the trunk to make room for the fruits. Her dad was in front, asleep. Suddenly out of nowhere an owner type jeep (it was discovered later that the driver smelled of alcohol) hit one vehicle. Upon impact, the jeep ricocheted to the side and hit the back of the Layug's Toyota. Hilda was caught in between the impact. Her legs were crushed and her head hit the ground when she fell.
She was brought to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately, the hospital could not handle such kind of an injury. She was then brought to La Salle, Dasmariñas, Cavite. From then on her condition deteriorated until she was declared brain dead last Monday.
Yesterday, the family brought her home. During transport her life support system was taken off.
Her body now lies in state at the Alcala Room, Loyola Memorial Chapel along Sucat Road.
Anna and Ophie will be planing in on Friday morning (Manila time). Interment will be on Sunday, 6 July.
Let us pray for the eternal repose of her soul. Let us also include the Layug family in our prayers.

PS Thanks to Cristy and Lala for sharing the informaton and spreading the word.
MONAY'S MANRESA REUNION
Here are pictures taken last Saturday night at Edward Del Rosario's nice home. Rita (Cajigas) from New Jersey is currently visiting brother Gino (George) so we had a get-together. Of course we talked about the good old days.
We were joined last night by Tere Vispo-Acuna (F.A. from Cathay Pacific, batch '85) who flew in this past week. She even gave Claudine the latest issue of YES magazine featuring Gabby and Sharon on the cover (ano ba yan??? umuwi lang si Gabby and daming kinilig, dyan naman si Omar di ba? hehehe) Tere was joined by hubby Edwin from Alberta but both are flying out separately today. Had a greek dinner in North Vancouver last night.

Manresa Alumni Induction
The Class of 1983 continues its tradition of having a representative in the MSAA Board of Directors since 2000. Elected were Gem Arceo-Galang for the position of Executive Vice President and Allan Asi as Assistant Treasurer. Other batchmates who were in attendance in the MSAA Induction last April 2, 2008 were Past MSAA Presidents Jean Tenedero-Soniega, Roberto Gomez and Michael Paca.
