" Sunset Shell"

This image was created using a scanned slide of the shell and mixing it in Layer Modes with a Styles Layer. The sunset image was placed in the shell using Paste Into in Edit.

At first glance, the entire image looks covered with the pattern of the
background. I didn't notice the sunset inside the shell until I read your
description. My suggestion would be to make the background pattern more
different from the sunset.

Great !!   beautiful presentation of an great idea. But red and pink colors in the corner of the background are distracting.

Clever manipulation.  Wondered if the forward fold of the shell could be either sharpened a little or level-ised a bit to bring it forward and add some stereo.  The coloureed edges of the frame don't realy do a lot...bit distracting.   The background sandy effect is most appropriate....liked looking at this one.

BIOGRAPHY

I am a professional photographer. I live in Sarasota Florida. My hobby for years was
special effect photography. When I first saw Adobe Photoshop demonstrated at the PSA
convention in Atlanta I knew things had changed. The computer had created the digital
darkroom and I was hooked. I like images close to reality as well as image that are miles
from reality and everything in-between.

As for producing images I use  Illustrator, Painter, Photoshop and Bryce.
Adobe Photoshop is my  #1 imaging program. My computer is a
custom assembled  with a 667 Pentium III CPU, two hard drives and 256 Megs of RAM,
a Sony CD writer and Epson 636U  flatbed scanner. I use a Wacom graphic pen.
I use Windows 98 SE which allows me to use two monitors.  This allows the
image being worked on to have its own monitor.  The other monitor is used for
all the Photoshop  pallets.   For printing I use an Epson Photo EX printer.
