This site is aimed particularly at 15-19 year olds who are doing GCSE, AS/A2 level English Literature, or are considering it at degree level. However, all book-lovers are welcome. Enjoy!
The purpose of the site is basically that of a book group, but as it is online it can be made available to many more people. Therefore, I am organising it as follows:
At any time there will be a current 'Book of the day', 'Poem of the day', and 'Play of the day' (please note: these may not change daily!). I will encourage as many people as possible to read the current work and to give their opinions on it. Once the work has been replaced, it will go into the database of authors, so you are still more than welcome to read and comment about it. I will set up book, play and poem lists, so that you are able to see upcoming additions. If there are other books etc. that you would like to see discussed then please email me with the name of the work and the author's name and I will put it onto the list. Better still, if you would like to write your own profile for it then email me with the same information, plus a paragraph or two on the book, including information about: the plot (however no spoilers please!), the characters, some historical background, and background of the author if possible. Thanks.
NEW! For all you budding writers: e-mail me your short stories, poems etc (as word documents please) and I will put them up on the site. Very useful for hearing other people's opinions of your work, and perhaps getting some useful suggestions, (or just for showing off - it's all good!). You can choose whether I publish it anonymously or not. So get writing!
