I've been egging for about 6 years, after having seen an egger cutting and carving on an emu egg at the local fair. I signed up that day, and the rest is history. I belong to Tri-County Egg Artists in Oxnard, CA, and now write the monthly newsletter for them, and have been past vice president for the club. We are a group of about 30 attending members. I usually take a table at the Westlake, CA Egg Show and Sale, to exhibit my eggs (can't bear to sell most), but this year I am not. I love to put together egg demonstrations for my neighbor's daughter, for her class. The awe in the kids faces is a sight to behold.
I've been on the Creativeside eggers list before it was Creativeside and Billie and Tom Yanez as owners. They have both done so much to promote egging, and I am glad that they are here for us.
I have many interests, and all just seem to fit right in with doing eggs. I love beading, any kind of needlework, I paint using both oils and acrylics and do Norwegian Rosemaling with the oils, make lots of eggs using Fimo clay, and currently am trying to write my own web page learning html as I go, but got side-tracked with the graphics end, becoming totally addicted to the graphics, but getting absolutely nowhere with the web page.
I'm married going on 41 years in April, have two grown children, with the daughter and two grandkids living in Washington State and my son living here. I'm married to the best guy around, who sees to almost my every whim, and indulges me in my egging.
