Recent article from the Daily Inter lake in Kalispell regarding our Montana's Governor Judy Martz's policy advisor & his involvement in the crash that killed House Majority Leader Paul Sliter.  Candy coats issues raised in MT, including exclusion of very prominant valley specific cases.
Sales to Minors account for six of 10 violations.
An article about the number of underage sales in MT in recent years.  Does not quote statistics of number of local stings, nor does it consistently describe the situation in the valley. Sting operations are unheard of in the Flathead.

Watne Pleads Guilty to Second DUI
Flathead County Commissioner Bob Watne pleads guilty to his second DUI shortly after being sentenced for his first. Jail sentence is 6 months in jail with 5 suspended.  The one month he will serve will be served under house arrest (he may come and go for work), except for 4 days.  He was charged $550 in fines for the second DUI.

Watne fined for DUI
Flathead County Commissioner Bob Watne blood aclohol level .18 is sentenced for his 1st DUI.  Fine at $1,382 but no jail time.  Judge unable to consider 2nd DUI on Jan 1st until later date.

Opinion article on the recent 2nd DUI of Flathead County Commissioner Bob Watne shortly after being convicted despite his innocent plea on his 1st DUI.  Finally someone says it..."The public is smart enought to be able to discern what's going on here, and it's an insult to the public if some action does not ensue," said Dale Williams...so what WILL we do?
