About myself

My RC History

My RC career (Remote Control model airplane) started in late '70 when I was a freshman in National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan. I was a self-taught pilot that means, my skill was piled up with tons of airplane wreckage. Anyway, I finally got through.

My first impression of pattern flight, or precision aerobatics, was in 1992 when I went to a pattern contest in SCCMAS, San Jose, California. I enjoyed and loved the pattern right away. After I moved to Washington State in early 1993, I joined the NSRCA and started to compete in that summer.

I joined two local RC clubs when I was in Northwest: the Paluse Ridge Runners RC Club of Pullman (WA) - Moscow (ID) area , and the Lewis-Clark RC Club in Lewiston (ID) - Clarkston (WA) area . Since there were not many contests near by, therefore, I had to travel a lot to fly contests. Tyically, I accumulated more than 2000 miles during a competition season that runs from late May till mid September. After four years, I finally got hardware to reward myself: 1997 Advanced Class District Champion in NSRCA district-8.

After graduated from Washington State University in 1998, I got a postdoc job offer from Stanford University and moved to Bay area in mid Feburary, 1999. In late June, 2000, I move on to industry and work in Conductus Inc. as a menber of technical staff in Research/Development Group. Now I am a member of Santa Clara County Model Airplane Skypark (SCCMAS) in South San Jose, CA. This is a big and beautiful flying site with lots of nice and friendly flyers. I'm very happy to be a menber there.

The following is a picture tour of my pattern experience, I hope you will like it. In the future, I will try to add more information about pattern flight. So, please come back later.

Thanks for stopping by and have a nice day!
