LONE OAK RANCH CEREMONIAL WHITE DOVE
RELEASES
CUSTOM CAKES AND MINTS
Serving Oregon and Washington
Why Doves?
For centuries the white dove has been a symbol of love, fidelity, and good fortune. Releasing doves at your  event adds a special touch that will be remembered for years. Many churches and public facilities have adopted rules that prohibit age-old customs. Rice and seed tossing at weddings and releasing non-native butterfly species are now banned at most venues. This has not affected our birds. Once they are done performing the only thing left is the Ahhh.
What We Offer?
All of our packages are completely customizable to suit your needs. We provide beautifully clean and trained birds, professional and properly attired release attendants, and attractive release baskets decorated to match your colors.
The Rest of the Story..
We feel honored that you have considered using our services. Your event is very important to us. We make every attempt to be as direct and informative as possible, so please bare with us and read the following. In the world of birds, the difference between a dove and a pigeon is not one of breeds but of size. Simply put, larger pigeons are pigeons, and smaller pigeons are doves. The stars of our show are in reality a special strain of small white racing homing pigeons. These gifted athletes are the result of months of training and thousands of miles.Beginning when they are less than two months old, our babies start training on a daily basis. With ever increasing distance they learn to return home. Fortunately nature has provided these particular doves with an incredible love of home and an uncanny ability to know where home lies.We also raise a pure white form of the wild ringneck dove. It is these small and beautiful birds that we use in our cage displays We never release these birds.Ringneck doves are primarily ground birds They use flight for escape and to get from one feeding area to another. They have absolutely no homing instinct.   Some pet shops have been known to sell these birds for wedding releases. When released outdoors these doves will usually fly about twenty feet and then land to search for food.  Not very dramatic for your wedding.  Please understand that they cannot survive on their own in our Nothwest climate and releasing these birds means that they will die. Happily however, our homers love to fly and get very excited when we load them up to go on the road. At your event they will delight the crowd by playfully soaring and swooping overhead before they decide to head for home.
